MAAF Fly-in 18-19 Oct 2008

A visit to the Museum of Australian Army Flying will take you back in time to see how “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines” progressed from the Boxkite to present day.

A must see for all aviation enthusiasts!

Experience the adventure and romance of our pioneer military aviators and marvel at their skill and courage. Items of memorabilia date back to 1912, when Australian Army Aviation was then known as the Australian Flying Corps  (AFC).

In 1921 the Royal Australian Air Force was born and soon established its own traditions. The Australian Army again entered the military aviation field after WWII and since that time, has served in every post war campaign, gaining an enviable reputation.

The Museum’s memorabilia includes aircraft, engines, uniforms, history of the Oakey Airfield, photographs and memoirs of Army Aviation servicemen.

The "Kiddies Corner" is a favourite for children where they can colour in the aircraft on display and take home.
